Thermal springs are right alongside crystal-clear warm oceans and seas for me as the ultimate in luxury.  Just to be in the waters is soothing to my soul.  Bath, England has a long history as a spa town, having the Roman remains, especially the Temple of Sulis Minerva and the baths complex (based around the hot springs at the heart of the Roman town of Aquae Sulis, which have remained at the heart of the City's development ever since).   I did visit Bath many years after I made the painting but, on that day, entrance was an impossibility.
