This piece was painted long before I moved to the desert, maybe a foreshadowing of things to come?  Contrary to what we may perceive about the desert, it is alive and thriving with plant and animal life.  When the rains come, plant species of all kinds pop up, some that may never have been seen before. The smell of the desert after the rain is mesmerizing, it's a sacred place.
