Red Temple

During 2004 I travelled to Tibet by way of China, because that is how you must go – Tibet now being under the control of the Chinese.  I visited the amazing Potala Palace and as many temples in China and Tibet as I could – many were predominantly red. Giant incense burners stationed outside, creamy white candles burning within, laundry strung across clotheslines and serene worshipful surroundings.  I did not capture much in paintings, but this one red temple appeared on canvas.
